When the area around St Paul’s in the City of London was razed in the blitz, plans slowly emerged for ambitious rebuilding: the Golden Lane estate, the Barbican, and a new raised walkway system above ancient London Wall.

Join John Grindrod, author of Iconicon and historian of modern places, on a fascinating walk around one of the world’s most celebrated Brutalist architectural estates and its surroundings, to help recapture some of the excitement and optimism of London’s Cold War-era masterpiece.

What to Expect
  • Ticket buyers will be informed of the meeting point and the tour will commence from that location
  • The tour will last approximately two and a half hours, including a drink at The Bindery (included in ticket price)
  • The tour will go ahead unless there are extreme weather conditions which prevent travel to/from London - please dress appropriately
  • The tour will end at Faber's offices in The Bindery (nearest station: Farringdon), where John will sign copies of Iconicon
