About the Event

Have you ever wondered about what goes into producing Faber’s iconic books? Join us for an exclusive look at the inner workings of the Production Department. Production Director Jude Gates, Head of Production Pedro Nelson and Editorial Design Manager Kate Ward will take you through what the team does.

Guided by the four principles of their work – cost, quality, schedule and sustainability – learn about how specifications are chosen, the challenges of typesetting and the printing process. Kazuo Ishiguro’s latest novel, Klara and the Sun, will serve as a case study.

Whether you’re a writer or a reader who wants to learn more about the decision-making process behind book production, or someone thinking of working in publishing, this event is for you. You will have the opportunity to ask the team about their work using the Q&A function during this live event.
