About the Event

Have you ever wondered about what goes into the publication of Faber’s fiction books?

Faber associate publisher Dr Louisa Joyner and editorial assistant Jordaine Kehinde will talk you through every aspect of the process for the different areas of fiction, from acquisition and editing to the publishing of a fiction list. Louisa and Jordaine will demystify what a publisher does and share insights and their own stories on how to get a job in publishing.

This event is taking place in person at the Bindery and will be live-streamed.

Dr Louisa Joyner is associate publisher at Faber. She has a PhD in contemporary American fiction and has worked at a broad range of publishers, including Atlantic Books, Penguin Random House, HarperCollins and Canongate. She publishes predominantly fiction, with some narrative non-fiction, and her list includes acclaimed authors such as André Aciman, Anna Burns, Louise Doughty, Akwaeke Emezi, Tsitsi Dangarembga, Barbara Kingsolver and Leïla Slimani.

Jordaine Kehinde is an editorial assistant at Faber, working across a broad list of fiction. She is passionate about books that experiment with genre and form to explore underrepresented experiences. She has helped publish books by Barbara Kingsolver, Kazuo Ishiguro, Akwaeke Emezi, Claire Kilroy and Helen Oyeyemi.
