About the Event

Join Emma Carroll, the award-winning author of Letters from the Lighthouse and Secrets of a Sun King, as she talks about her heart-warming and enthralling historical adventure, The Week at World’s End.

Find out about the 1960s and what it was like to live through the Cuban Missile Crisis, in Carroll’s most compelling book yet, and pick up tips on how to write your own stories.

Carroll was a secondary school English teacher for many years before becoming a full-time writer. Her stories are usually historical, often spooky, and always led by a cast of impressive female characters. Her debut, Frost Hollow Hall, won the North East Book Award. Her second novel, The Girl Who Walked On Air, was nominated for the Carnegie Medal.
