Summary
The Flower of My Secret is Pedro Almodovar’s deeply moving portrait of a woman who is brought to the abyss of her own loneliness and despair. Leo, a writer of popular romantic fiction, is forced to remove the rose-tinted spectacles with which she views her relationship with her husband and face the reality of the lies and evasions on which her life is based. The story moves effortlessly from Madrid to Almodovar’s home province of La Mancha and displays, with his customary playfulness, humour and acute sensitivity, the turmoil of human existence.
