Faber Radio Presents: Willy Vlautin's The Horse

By Willy Vlautin 17 May 2024

This playlist is my wayward map of Al Ward’s life, the main character of The Horse.

They are the songs that influenced him as a kid, the ones he had to play nightly in casinos and bars with bands like Mona Maverick and Rex Winchester, and the songs that he listened to on the radio.

As the playlist goes on the songs get more modern. The music world changed and so did Al. When the casino bands dried up he began playing in a cow punk band. His tastes changed as his opportunities did.

There’s a life of songs in the playlist and hopefully they give you a glimpse into the musical world of The Horse.
