Faber is proud to announce new editions of three classic titles from award-winning, bestselling historian Jon Savage.

For over forty years Jon Savage has established himself as one of Britain’s most significant cultural historians, widely regarded as one of our leading experts in popular culture.

For the first time Faber will publish 2007’s Teenage: The Creation of Youth 1875-1945 – a book chosen by David Bowie as one of his top 100 and which was adapted for screen by director Matt Wolf — featuring a new introduction by Savage himself. Jeremy Deller and Scott King provide a new introduction to 1991’s England’s Dreaming: The Sex Pistols and Punk Rock, Savage’s definitive history of that iconic movement and writer David Mitchell offers a new introduction to 2015’s 1966: The Year the Decade Exploded. All titles feature a striking new series look.

Alexa von Hirschberg, Publishing Director, said: ‘Jon Savage is a hugely significant British writer and I am thrilled to see his work celebrated in this distinctive new livery.’

Dan Papps, Deputy Director, Music, said: ‘We wouldn’t dare call Jon a national treasure to his face but you can and should.’

Savage’s next book for Faber is due for publication in 2023.
