E. A. Jackson’s thriller Missing to be voiced by Nicola Walker

20 January 2026

Faber announced that actress Nicola Walker has signed on to read E. A. Jackson’s detective thriller novel Missing and two further titles in the series.

Nicola Walker’s reading of Missing will be available on 22nd January 2026, with the paperback original to follow in July 2026.

Billed as ‘a smart, suspenseful crime thriller for fans of Cara Hunter and Susie Steiner’ with advance praise from Will Dean, Sean Watkins and others, Jackson’s latest book explores recently promoted DI Martha Allen, whose career is riding on the case of what has happened to a missing baby.

Binney said:

‘Nicola Walker’s voice is the one I always pictured in my mind when reading Missing, and I can’t think of anyone better to bring Emily’s characters to life. She’s the perfect voice for Martha Allen’s experienced authority as well as her moments of vulnerability, and we can’t wait for audio listeners to hear her performance.’

Walker said:

‘In narrating Missing I grew to admire Martha Allen’s grit and perceptiveness – she’s worked hard to reach her position as a DI and every step of the way one crime has stayed with her. She has never given up on finding the truth’

Nicola Walker has worked extensively in Theatre (most recently Unicorn at The Garrick Theatre, The Unbelievers at the Royal Court, The Corn is Green at the National Theatre),TV (most recently The Split, Annika, Unforgotten) and Audio (Geneva by Richard Armitage, None of this is True by Lisa Jewell and We Solve Murders by Richard Osman)
