Founded in 1929 in London, Faber is one of the world’s great publishing houses. We are looking for an IT Apprentice to provide technical assistance and helpdesk support to the organisation and ensure the smooth running of all IT systems.

 

Key apprenticeship information

  • Salary: £21,000
  • Duration: 16 Months
  • Qualification: Information communications technician, Level: 3 (Standard)
  • Duration: 12 months On-Programme plus 4 months for End Point Assessment
  • Off the Job Requirements: On average, 1 working day per week
  • Training Schedule: Monthly 2-hour live sessions via Zoom / Online learning via Litmos LMS

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the IT team including:
  • Monitoring the Zoho helpdesk ticketing system and responding to requests for assistance using the TeamViewer remote support application.
  • Providing support in person to staff within the office.
  • Providing telephone and email support to staff working remotely
  • Escalating issues when necessary to IT colleagues
  • Setting up of AV equipment in the event areas.
  • Setting up of Laptops and Mobile devices for users.
  • Setup and management of key fobs for the door entry system.
  • Server room maintenance
  • Equipment recycling
  • Join weekly meetings with AAG as part of IT team
  • Join two weekly IT update meetings
  • To assist with Zoom drop-in sessions
  • To assist with IT drop-in sessions

Update documentation for:

  • Asset register
  • Email group list
  • Helpdesk support documentation and instructions.
  • IT documentation
  • Teamviewer user list for PC
  • AV equipment usage instructions

 

Entry Requirements

You’ll need to pass a face to face screening interview with our Talent Team (don’t worry, we’re a friendly bunch) and sit initial assessments in Maths and English.
