Celebrate the publication of The Rise of the Ultra Runners by Adharanand Finn with Like the Wind magazine.
Like the Wind magazine is delighted to be hosting a very special night with famed author and runner Adharanand Finn. Having written two fabulous books exploring running culture – Running with the Kenyans and The Way of the Runner – Finn’s latest book takes a look into the world of ultra running.
According to publisher Faber & Faber, this book takes Finn into uncharted territory;
“Adharanand Finn travelled to the heart of the sport to find out why ultra-running is now one of the fastest-growing sports in the world – and to see if he could become an ultra runner himself.
His journey took him from the deserts of Oman to the snow-capped peaks of the Rockies, and on to his ultimate goal, the 105-mile Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.
“The Rise of the Ultra Runners is the electrifying, inspirational account of what he learned along the way. Through encounters with the sport’s many colourful characters and his experiences of its soaring highs and crushing lows, Finn offers an unforgettable insight into what can be found at the boundaries of human endeavour.”
Like the Wind is delighted to be part of the launch of The Rise of the Ultra Runners.
Editor and co-founder Simon Freeman will be joined by Adharanand for a live interview. The two of them will explore the origins of the new book, what Finn discovered about runners who take on vast distances and his own capacity to run far.
There be an interview to enjoy as well as some refreshments and a chance to buy The Rise of the Ultra Runners for a special price of £10 (RRP £14.99). Plus Adharanand will be on hand to sign copies for those who buy the book on the night.
