Max Porter at UEA Literature Festival

27th March 2019

Max Porter presents his much-anticipated second novel, Lanny.

Lanny is a story about a family whose village is peopled by the living and the dead. It’s a story about a boy with a gift for friendship and the traces of enchantment he leaves in the closely woven lives around him.

Observing it all, and orchestrating a spellbinding tapestry of voices, is Dead Papa Toothwort who has woken from his slumber and is searching for his favourite. He is looking for the boy.

MAX PORTER’s first novel, Grief is the Thing with Feathers, was published to widespread acclaim in 2015, winning the Sunday Times PFDYoung Writer of the Year Award, the International Dylan Thomas Prize and the BAMB Readers’ Award and was shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Award and the Goldsmiths Prize.

Tickets: £9 (£5 students)
