Alan Bennett Donates his Archive to the Bodleian

Alan Bennett has announced that he is to donate his life’s work to Oxford’s Bodleian library. Among the many pieces will be unpublished manuscripts and early drafts of stage, television and radio plays.

The scholarly work of one of the world’s most famous libraries keeps being interrupted by cackles of laughter, as staff in the Bodleian at Oxford University get to grips with their latest treasure: a free gift of Alan Bennett’s entire archive. [full article in the Guardian].
