Jacqueline Yallop

Jacqueline Yallop is the author of three critically-acclaimed novels, Kissing Alice, Obedience, and Marlford. She has also written two works of non-fiction. The first, Magpies, Squirrels and Thieves: How the Victorians Collected the World, was shortlisted for the Longman-History Today Book of the Year; the second, Dreamstreets: A Journey Through Britain’s Village Utopias, has recently been published by Jonathan Cape.

Before becoming a writer, Jacqueline worked as a curator in museums and galleries, and she continues to be involved with exhibitions and arts projects. She teaches fiction and creative non-fiction at the University of Aberystwyth, the Oxford University Creative Writing Course and for Guardian Masterclasses.
