Andy Stanton

Andy Stanton studied English at Oxford but they kicked him out. He spent the next decade in a succession of terrible jobs before writing his first book, You're a Bad Man, Mr Gum!, which was published in 2006. Since then, the Mr Gum books have gone on to sell over a million copies in the UK alone. They have been published in more than thirty countries in twenty two languages, and have won multiple awards, including the Red House Children's Book Award and the first ever Roald Dahl Funny Prize.

Andy lives in North London. When he's not writing, he enjoys reading, watching cartoons and listening to music (even jazz). One day he'd like to move to New York or Berlin or one of those places because he's got fantasies of bohemia. His favourite expression is 'good evening' and his favourite word is 'flamillopusk', which he just made up while writing this biog. He has no idea what it means.
