Can I approach Faber to publish my work?
Faber can now only accept unsolicited submissions of poetry – we no longer accept submissions of fiction, non-fiction, plays screenplays or children’s books. For further information and guidelines, please visit our For Writers section.

Can I submit illustrations and artwork for consideration?
You can send us examples of your work – either by email to gadesign@faber.co.uk or by post to The Design Department, Faber and Faber Ltd, 3 Queen Square, London WC1N 3AU. If sending by post please mark it ‘Artwork Submissions’.

Unfortunately we are unable to provide any feedback, or return your examples, so please do not send originals. We will keep all relevant artwork on file and get in touch if a suitable project comes along.

How do I apply for a job at Faber?
Whenever a job vacancy arises at Faber we post details on our Jobs page. We usually advertise in the Bookseller magazine, and occasionally in the Guardian newspaper. Unfortunately, due the high number we receive, we cannot respond to speculative applications.

Does Faber offer work experience opportunities?
Unfortunately we no longer take people on for work experience. Over the past 18 months we’ve taken on more staff so really don’t have the space to fit anyone else in. If you want to find out about other book publishers, the best place to look is in the Writers’ and Artists’ Yearbook, which lists addresses and websites. It’s also a good idea to visit bookshops to see who is publishing what. You might want to log-on to the Bookseller’s website which often has useful information, industry news and online dialogues.

Can Faber send me any posters for children's books?
If we had them we would be happy to send them. Although we do publish children’s books it’s rare that we produce posters for them. All the posters we’ve printed in the past have now gone unfortunately. We are starting to invest much more in our Children’s publishing – which means we’re more likely to have posters and other display material in the future.

How can I contact a Faber author?
If you would like to contact a Faber author please do so in writing, addressing your letter to ‘Author’s Name’, c/o Editorial Department, Faber and Faber Ltd, 3 Queen Square, London WC1N 3AU. Please understand that we cannot guarantee a response from the author.

If you would like to invite an author to take part in a festival or event, please send details initially to gapublicity@faber.co.uk.

How can I find out if an author is giving bookshop readings or appearing at a festival?
For an up-to-date list of events please visit our Events page.

Who do I contact to request a review copy of a particular book?
If you work in the media and would like to request a review copy please send an email to gapublicity@faber.co.uk stating the publication or organisation you represent.

How can I request permission to reproduce an extract from a Faber book?
Before approaching us for permission, please read the guidelines set out in Permissions. It is imperative that you are able to provide as much information as possible. You may then wish to contact us with your request via the Permission Request Form on the same page. Please be patient – we get inundated with requests so a response might take as much as 10 weeks.

How can I find out if rights are available for a Faber book?
If you would like to find out about the availability of serial, dramatic or translation rights for a particular book, please email garights@faber.co.uk. You might find the information you are looking for in our catalogues.

Are you the same company as Faber & Faber Inc. in the USA?
No we are not. Although we share the same company logo and isbn prefix (0571), Faber and Faber Ltd and Faber & Faber Inc. are now separate companies. Faber Inc. is an affiliate of Farrar, Straus & Giroux Inc. Find out more at www.fsgbooks.com.

Does Faber offer an inspection copy service?
For territorial reasons, we are unable to offer inspection copies to non-UK institutions. Many ‘Faber’ titles available in the USA are in fact published by Faber & Faber Inc, which is now part of Farrar, Straus & Giroux Inc. Further details can be found at www.fsgbooks.com.

How can I contact the Faber Archive?
If you have a query that you feel can only be answered by the Faber Archivist, please email archiveenquiries@faber.co.uk or send a letter to The Archive, Faber and Faber Ltd, 3 Queen Square, London WC1N 3AU. Please note that extensive responses to queries may not always be possible.

How can I buy a book from the Faber website?
All sales from the Faber website are handled by Foyles. For full details about ordering – whether online, by post, fax or telephone; methods of payment; postage and packing; delivery time; returns policy; terms and conditions – please visit the Foyles website.

How can I find a book that is no longer in print?
The Faber website features all Faber titles currently in print. If you cannot find a book then it’s quite likely that it is no longer in print. In this case our advice would be to try some of the online retailers that specialise in hard-to-find books, such as www.alibris.com, www.abebooks.co.uk and www.countrybookshop.co.uk.

How can I request a copy of your latest catalogue?
All our current catalogues are downloadable in pdf format here. If you would prefer a printed copy, please email gacatalogue@faber.co.uk.
